Born and raised in San Antonio, TX, where I graduated from O.W. Holmes High School in 1991. I came to Austin to attend the University of Texas (Hook 'em!) and fell in love (with Austin and my wife). After graduating from UT with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Finance, I had a successful 13 year career in corporate sales and had the opportunity to be a small part of Austin's high tech industry. My wife Melissa and I have been married for 18 years and we have a 12 year old son, Tommy.
I have not always enjoyed running, but it has developed into a large part of my lifestyle thanks to the encouragement of my wife. We train together for most of our races, including the San Antonio Rock n Roll Marathon, Livestrong Marathon and the Austin Cap 10K. I have even completed an ultra-marathon. I cannot get enough of it! Every year as the Cross Country Head Coach, my goal is to continue building the program and instill a culture of hard work and dedication. This will be my 6th season with the program, and I am looking forward to seeing what we can do. Know that I am dedicated to the XC program and will demand the absolute best from every athlete.

I was born in Palestine in East Texas, and graduated from Elkhart High School in 2000. I attended Ranger College on a baseball scholarship for two years before transferring to Stephen F. Austin State University in 2002. I graduated with my Bachelor's in Liberal Arts in 2006 from SFA, majoring in Composite Social Studies. I immediately moved to Austin, and worked for six years initially in commercial real estate in downtown Austin, and later as a Sales and Marketing Manager for a commercial services company in Austin. I came to CCHS in 2013 as a first year teacher, and was hired as a Freshmen Football Coach and Assistant Men's Soccer Coach. Last summer I was promoted to Head Men's Soccer and Assistant Cross Country.
I am married to a beautiful woman named Deborah and we have an awesome three year old son Charlie. Deborah is a Masters student at Texas State University in the Nutrition and Dietetics program. She is currently working on the final stages of her thesis, while at the same time starting her internship through the university to become a registered dietitian. I enjoy running, and have helped my wife train for the Austin Half Marathon twice. We enjoy doing themed runs in the area, my favorite of which has been The Color Run, which is a 5K that promotes healthiness and happiness. I am looking forward to working with Coach Morales and all the CCHS runners again this year!
